How do I book an appointment?
We recommend that you book online as it is easier to see availability.  All cancellations show live on our website, including same day appointments. For this reason we do not hold cancellation lists.
 
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we now require a 50% deposit upon booking. The remainder will be paid on the day of your appointment. If you need to cancel an appointment, please be aware of our cancellation terms:
- More than 12 hours notice of a cancellation: your deposit will be refunded to your original payment method within 3-5 business days.
- Less than 12 hours notice of a cancellation: your deposit will not be refunded.
 
When should I arrive?
We advise that you arrive promptly for your appointment. We have a small waiting area and a colouring table/toys to keep your little ones entertained while you wait. Please remember we cannot accept late arrivals.  We have appointments booked back to back every day with thorough cleaning in between, so arriving just five minutes late can set us back significantly.
 
Where can I park?
Parking is very busy on Gosforth High Street. Most of our customers use Sainsburys rooftop car park. Please allow plenty of time to arrive for your appointment.
 
What service shall I book?
We have a range of appointments. Please choose the best option you feel is necessary. If you aren't sure or want to give us some information in advance, you can add notes onto your booking.
 
What does a First haircut entail?
We often get asked by customers if it still counts as a first haircut if the child is 2 or 3 years old.  Our answer is yes! We understand that children's hair grows at different rates. This is why the price varies and it will be determined on the day of the cut, at the discretion of the hair stylist. Please let your hair stylist know if you would like to keep a lock of your child's hair. We can also supply a First Haircut Certificate at a small cost.
 
What if my child does not like getting their hair cut?
Here at Pikku, we see children every day that do not enjoy getting their hair cut.  What we say to all parents in this situation is that we will try our very best to get the best cut that we can. We have cars that the children can sit in while watching their favourite cartoons on a tablet. Our staff are friendly and very experienced, and most importantly, all mums themselves!  We understand it can be an anxious time for your child, but also for the parents too. If you feel a visit to our salon would help - maybe for a look around/play with some toys/watch others getting a haircut, please contact us to arrange a convenient time.
 
Once you are ready to book your appointment, please consider our 'Haircut Haters' appointment. Our standard haircuts are only 20 minutes long - but the Haircut Hater appointment is 50 minutes.  This enables us to spend more time with your child, giving them the opportunity to settle before we attempt a haircut.
On rare occasions, we hope you understand that if a Haircut Hater is extremely upset and we feel it is unsafe to continue, that we won't be able to continue with the appointment.
 
Do you offer pamper parties?
Due to us now only occupying the ground floor of our building, we no longer host pamper parties. We highly recommend Coco Kids (07915 121145) for pamper parties, or Fun Little Foodies (07821 572514) for children's cookery classes and parties.
 
How can I pay?
We take cash and card payments.
